Maya carefully brushed through her hair. She was going for a walk in a bit and she needed to make sure she looked okay. She brushed her hair exactly thirty times before getting up and smoothing out her shirt and jeans. She pulled on her purple converse before grabbing her purse and heading out the door.
She walked along the streets slowly, being careful not to bump into anyone or brush against someone. Germs could spread easily, she didn't want to get any germs. The thought made her twitch slightly but she took a few deep breaths and got over it.
She pulled her ipod out of her bag and carefully wiped the earbuds off before putting them in her ears and continuing her walk, humming along quietly to her music. She looked into a few of the shops and saw one that sold horse figurines. Growing up in Texas meant that she had a bit of a soft spot for the animals. She pulled her sleeve over her hand before opening the door and heading over to the shelves. She kept her sleeve over her hand as she carefully picked up the figurines and looked at them, deciding if she wanted to buy one.

For the past couple of weeks Sammie felt she was walking on air. When she first moved to LA to follow her singing and acting dreams, she thought it would take at least a year or so before she really got anything. Sure, she had gotten an extra role in the new movie Musical High School, but she didn't really count that. What really got her happy, and surprised, was the fact she had a lead role in the new T.V show Lights. Sure, filming didn't start until February 1, but Sammie was still happy. It wasn't only the fact she had landed a starting role so early, but it was also the fact her family had moved to LA with her.
Today through, they were all off doing their own thing, and Sammie was at home, wondering if she should go out or stay home. Deciding that going out for a bit would be fun, Sammie changed into a pair of jeans and a white top. She grabbed her purse off her dresser, making sure her keys and money were still in the purse. They were. After putting on her sneakers, she left the house, locking the door behind her.
Soon she found herself walking down the streets of downtown. She looked into one store and saw horse figurines. Sammie smiled. She always loved horse, and when she was younger, she would beg her parents to get her one. They always said no. And now with her career taking off, a horse was out of the question for the moment, but a horse figurine, that was another story. Sammie pulled the door open and step in.
Once she was in the store, she noticed that someone else had the same idea as her. She walked over to the display, and picked up one of the horse figurine. "They're so pretty," she said out loud, through mostly to herself.

Maya was startled at the sound of someone next to her and let out a tiny squeak before carefully setting down the horse she was looking at. It took her a second before she responded. "They're gorgeous. My family owned a ranch but I couldn't take care of the horses. They're too messy. I used to brush them though." She shut her mouth quickly. She didn't want to babble to a stranger. "Sorry" She mumbled, her cheeks flushing slightly.
She took a small step away before picking up a figurine of a roan shetland pony. She was already planning on buying at least a couple of the figurines. Collecting them was her guilty pleasure and these were just so pretty. She kept them in a a box that she carried with her whenever she moved around. They were a tiny bit of home that she could have whenever she wanted and it helped calm her down at times.
((this was a really bad reply. Im sorry. Im tired))

Sammie looked over at the girl who had spoken. She tilted her head, one part of her dreaming of living on a farm while another was wondering what the girl meant by not taking care of the horses because they were to messy. When Sammie had lived in Texas, she had lived in a large house in the city. She would have loved living on a farm with a horse of her own to take care of....Sammie shook her head, smiling at the girl.
"Must have been fun to live on a farm," Sammie said. She decided on focusing on the positive instead of asking what the girl meant by horses being to messy for her to take care of. To Sammie being able to be around horses a lot would have been one of her dreams come true. As it would, she was focusing on her acting and singing dreams. She put the horse figurine down, turning her whole body to face the girl. "I'm Sammie, by the way," she said.
Sammie's father was always warning her about being to friendly with people she just met. But Sammie couldn't help it. She loved meeting new people.

"It was pretty fun" She nodded. She had loved it. Farms were gorgeous and you had so much space to do whatever you wanted. "Im Maya" She smiled in greeting.
"Don't be offended that I don't shake your hand. People have a lot of germs and germs don't go well with OCD" She hated having to explain that. It was embarrassing. As if she wasn't socially awkward already, and then she had to add her fear of germs. She could get over it and her pills helped a lot but there was always a nagging at the back of her head telling her that something as simple as a hand shake was bad..
She looked away for a moment and then gasped. "Look at this!" at the end of the short aisle there was model ranch. It was really pretty. She glanced at the girl and then walked the few short steps to the end of the aisle to examine it closer.

Sammie smiled at the other girl when she introduced herself as Maya. "Pretty name," Sammie said. She was happy that Maya was friendly, at least she seemed to be. Sammie couldn't understand people who were standoffish, or were to quiet, or something. When Maya went on to explain why she didn't shake Sammie's hand, Sammie was taken aback for a second. Strange as it was, Sammie had never met anyone with OCD, at least she couldn't remember if she had. She shook her head, shrugging her shoulders after. "It's fine. Handshakes aren't that important anyways."
Sammie was studying Maya when the girl gasped and walked over to something at the end of the aisle. Sammie followed, wondering what Maya was looking at. Once Sammie got close enough to see, she smiled. It was a model ranch. "Wow." Sammie whispered. She leaned closer to get a better look.

She grinned when the other girl wasn;t upset by the fact they couldn't shake hands. People didn't get upset often but it had happened before. "I grew up in Texas. This reminds me of my neighbors house" She smiled fondly at the model.
"Sorry, im getting all nostalgic. I havent been home in awhile" Maybe she should plan a trip back down to her hometown and see her parents. They had visited Maya several times but she hadn't gone down there for a visit. She'sd have to talk with Laci about it to see if they had anything planned during the next couple of weeks. "Can I guess that you love horses just as much as me?" It was a small attempt at changing the subject.

Sammie smiled at Maya. "I grew up in Texas too. More in the city part, but still." Sammie loved Texas, and there were times she missed it, but if she was going to be an actress and singer she had to move away. She was just glad her family came with her. Sammie wasn't sure what she would do without them. There were times her siblings drove her crazy, but all the same, she loved them.
When Maya mentioned horses, Sammie perked up. "Yes! I love horses. I always wanted one, but my parents wouldn't let me get one," she said quickly. Sammie was about four when she saw her first horse, or at least that was the easiest memory she had of a horse, and ever since then she would ask her parents for a horse at least once a month. They always said no, that they were too busy or didn't have the money. While Sammie understood what they meant by not having enough time, they would always busy with something, she didn't understand what they meant by not having enough money. After all, her father had been a country singer and her mom had a good paying job.
