It was a beautiful Sunday, and Keela had the day off. She was glad for the break from work, she had been working everyday for the past week, and had barely spent time with her daughter, Julia. So today she was planning to spent the whole day with Julia. In the morning, Keela brought Julia to her room with a couple of books and a few toys, and spent the morning playing and reading.
By the afternoon, Keela decided it would be good to go out for a bit. After getting dressed in light blue pants, and a short sleeve, white top, Keela went to Julia's room. She got a plain, short sleeve, dark pink dress that went pass Julia's knees. Keela went back to her room and got Julia dressed. After a while, the two girls were clean and ready to go. Keela decided not to bring the stroller, and just bring her baby bag. Making sure everything she would need was in the bag, Keela picked up Julia and left her apartment, locking the door behind her.
After a while, Keela and Julia find themselves at the park. Keela had been carrying Julia this whole time, but now that the little girl saw the playground, she wanted to be let down. "Okay, sweetie. I'll let you down, but stay where I can see you," Keela said before putting Julia on the grass. The toddler took off as fast as her two year old legs would let her. Keela smiled and followed close behind Julia.

Aeron took a walk in the park. He was still new to LA and wasn't used to everything. The man decided to head to the park for a bit. It was a little crowded and he tried to make sure not to run into anyone. What a great first impression, running into someone. A whistle slipped from Aeron's lips as he meandered his way through the park. The day was beautiful and normally Aeron didn't like sunny days. LA wasn't a place that Aeron would have chosen to live in, but he was just kick starting his career and LA was as good a place as any to start. Suddenly Aeron stumbled a little and looked down. "Sorry!" He hadn't been paying attention and had found himself standing over a child.
A groan escaped him. Great. He nearly ran over someone's kid. He wanted a first impression, well he got it. Opening his eyes he looked around with terror on his face. He didn't want to get yelled at, but he had run into the kid and needed to apologize. Please don't get mad at me. He thought pleadingly, looking for the little girl's parents. Aeron just wanted to get this over with. All he wanted was that he wouldn't get yelled at. He was a stranger who had nearly stepped on some person's kid. What a great way to start the day.

Keela and Julia had only walked a few steps before someone had tripped over Julia. Julia fall back, her head tilted up to see who had run into her. Keela couldn't see Julia's face, but she was sure there were tears in the little girl's eyes. Keela rushed forward, bending down to get a better look at Julia. She barely heard the person who had run into Julia apologize, but she did managed to just hear the word sorry. She checked Julia over before looking up at the person. She saw a tall, dark haired man standing there.
Keela bit her lip for a second. It wouldn't have matter who had run into Julia, Keela would still have to deal with that person. She hated being around people, through she was getting better, if only for Julia's sake. "It's fine," she finally said, standing up with Julia in her arms. "She's fine. No damage." Julia laid her head on Keela's shoulder.

Aeron felt bad, "I didn't mean to run her over." He dipped his head in shame. The poor girl had been run over by a big man that she didn't know. He looked at the girl's mother, "My name is Aeron. I just recently moved to LA." Hopefully by playing nice he could gain a friend. The man hoped that the woman wouldn't hold this little mess against him. The girl was cute. "I hope you can forgive me for causing the accident. Will she be ok?" Aeron didn't want to walk away with this on his conscience. He smiled at the woman softly. She was pretty and Aeron found herself liking her, but he didn't say anything.
He held out his hand in proper meeting in hopes that the woman would accept. Aeron hoped he could walk away with the woman's phone number. The little girl was cute and definitely deserved something after he had ran into her so painfully. He waited patiently. The woman was pretty. Who was she? What was her daughter's name? Most importantly was the woman in a relationship? Aeron didn't want to make friends with someone and get closer to her if she had a boyfriend or husband or something. A bird cawed overhead. Annoying little bugger. Aeron thought angrily to himself.

"She's not hurt. I think she's just a little scared," Keela said. Julia wasn't used to being around a lot of people, only her mother and baby sitter. "And I'm Keela," she added. Keela smiled a little at the man who said he's name was Aeron, he seemed to beating himself up over this. "It's fine, really," she said again. "Right, Julia?" The little girl lifted her head, nodding a small nod. Keela turned back to Aeron. "See?" When Aeron reached out his hand, Keela shift Julia so she only need one arm to hold the girl, and used the other to shake Aeron's hand.
"Nice meeting you, through I wish it wasn't this way," Keela joked. She heard a bird cawed somewhere above her, and she looked up to see where it was and what kind of bird. Julia had heard it too, and she looked up also. "Birdy," Julia squealed. She wanted down now, forgetting about her run in with Aeron. Keela put her down but now before saying, "Stay where I can see you, okay." Julia nodded then took off. Keela's eyes stayed on Julia, watching her ever move.

Keela was the name of the mother and Julia was the daughter. Aeron watched at the little girl took off and a hint of a smile lit his face, "I remember when I would cause trouble for my parents. They didn't know what to do with me." Julia reminded him of when he was a kid a little bit and for some reason he found himself strangely attracted to the girl. Not the "I'm going to sleep with her attracted" but the "She needs a big brother or father figure attracted." He turned to Keela, "Is your husband around?" It was an innocent enough question.
Aeron began walking along inviting Keela to walk with him, "How long have you been in LA?" He was just trying to make light conversation and hopefully make a friend. Aeron wasn't the kind of person to walk away from a situation without having made at least one friend. The young man found Keela very attractive, but did not say so. They had just met and he didn't want to push her away after having run into her kid on accident. Besides. Aeron had seen T.V. shows where it almost always ended badly. A strange man said he liked someone and that someone wasn't seen or heard from again... alive anyway.
No, Aeron did not want to be thought of as some freaky psycho. So for now he just stuck with the relatively innocent questions. The kind of questions that would gain him a friend and not an enemy. The park might be slight packed, but it was relatively easy to see Julia through the crowd. She wasn't too far, but Aeron had no right to keep an eye on her. She wasn't his, but he could show concern. Besides, two pairs of eyes were better than one. As an actor in the making, Aeron had to focus on certain details around him.

Keela smiled, and keeping one eye on Julia, she looked over at Aeron. "Julia's actually pretty well behave, for a two year old anyways." Keela had been worried when Julia was reaching the 'terrible twos.' Keela had heard horrible stories about two year olds acting badly. However, Julia had always been a good baby, and while she had her moments, she was actually a pretty good toddler. Keela was glad, she had no one to help her with Julia, so it was great the the girl behaved so well. When Aeron asked if her husband was around, Keela raised an eyebrow for a second, before answering, "Never married." It was just her and Julia.
Keela looked back at Julia, the toddler had finally reached the playground, slowly walking up the stairs. Keela wanted to go help Julia, she wasn't used to standing back and letting Julia do her own thing. But the girl seemed fine, so Keela started to walk with Aeron. "We've been in LA for about two years now," Keela answered when Aeron asked how long she had lived in LA. She and Julia had arrived in LA shortly after Julia was born. That hadn't been a lot of fun. It had been almost Christmas, and Keela had been only eighteen at the time with a new born. She had been lucky to find a warm place to stay for a while before getting a job, then once saving up enough, a small two bedroom apartment. "How about you?"

"I moved here about a week ago, trying to kick start my acting career." Two years. Not a bad call. LA was certainly beautiful... in its own big city way. No husband? Aeron bit his lip, "Does Julia have any kind of father figure? Or a male role model?" He looked at Keela, "I'm only asking cause I've seen how some guys treat females. Some treat them horribly and some treat them nicely. I was only asking because your daughter's a sweet girl and I think she deserves to witness all good things." Aeron dipped his head in embarrassment, "Sorry. I was raised to be a well mannered person by my parents."
It was true. If Julia didn't have any kind of father figure or "big brother" to look up to Aeron felt it in his heart to offer that, but only if Keela accepted. Aeron was a total stranger and what he was saying might sound funny to her. He wasn't trying to sound like a psycho. Not at all, but sometimes he came out that way and he hoped he wasn't pushing Keela away. He liked her, he liked her a lot. Rubbing the back of his head with a hand he said, "May I take you and your daughter out to eat? Your choice. I just.... I kind of like you." Aeron had never been very good at admitting his feelings to a girl. He just hoped Keela wouldn't go nuts about it.

"Oh, so you just got here?" Keela asked when Aeron said he only moved to LA a week ago. "Got any work yet?" Keela know that most people that came to LA where looking for a job in the entertainment world, but Keela had just been looking to get away from her past. Part of her knew that running away from one's problem was never a good idea, but she didn't really care. When Aeron asked if Julia had any kind of father figure, Keela looked at the play ground, spotting Julia right away. She was standing at the top of a slide with a girl who looked about ten, the pair where getting ready to go down the slide together. Keela smiled at them before turning back to Aeron. "No, it's just Julia and me. And her baby sitter, but the baby sitter is female, so..." Keela trailed off.
When Aeron went on about being raised as a "well mannered person by his parents" Keela shrugged. She didn't really care what people thought of her. She knew the truth of her past, and that was good enough for her. She was watching Julia when Aeron spoke up again, asking if he could take her and Julia out to eat. Keela's head snapped in his direction. "I don't know....when where your thinking?"

"Got accepted for a few roles." The man thought hard about the date. It had to be nice. Then it struck him. Valentine's Day was coming up. It would be a good day to get out and about. He looked at Keela, "How's Valentine's Day? I know its a Sweethearts day, but it will give you and your daughter some bonding time." Aeron gave a small smile, "I'd like to get to know you better. Maybe become friends." He looked at Julia. The girl had already found a place in his heart. She was so sweet and Aeron found himself drawn to her like an older brother or a father. "That is if Valentine's and being friends is ok. I know we just met, but I just want to be nice."
Oh yeah. Aeron was not very good with this at all. Keela was definitely cute and as he thought earlier, Julia had already found a place within his heart. Hopefully Keela would say yes and Aeron could treat her and her daughter to something special on Valentine's Day. He would need to write to his parents and ask to borrow some money and explain why... of course, only if Keela accepted. Aeron wouldn't borrow money unless things were set. He'd get enough money for whatever both Keela and Julia wanted. While Aeron had some money already, he would need a tad bit more if he was to take Keela and Julia out, but it would definitely be worth it if Keela said yes and both would end up having fun.

Keela nodded slowly when Aeron said he had gotten a few roles. "Are then minor roles, or big ones?" Truthfully, she didn't really care, but she figured it was nice to ask. If Aeron was trying to start his acting career, then he must love the art, and would probably like talking about it. Of course, this was just a guess, but Keela decided to take it. When Aeron suggested that they go out to eat on Valentine's Day, Keela bit her lip, thinking. Keela had never celebrated Valentine's Day, she was alone so she never saw the point.
Finally she turned to Aeron. Sounds good. But it were have to be child friendly." She didn't want to take Julia to a grown-up like restaurant. As a waitress she had seen too many parents take their young children to a fancy restaurant and expect them to behave for hours. Keela wasn't going to do that to Julia.

"A couple of big ones and a semi-big one." Aeron nodded when Keela said somewhere were Julia could be herself, "Well..... how about you choose the place. The best kid friendly place I can think of is McDonalds and that's because it has a play area for children." He smiled. He agreed with Keela. A place that was child friendly was definitely a plus. He would treat them well, but he wasn't going to put Julia through hours of torture. No. He was much more kinder than that. The man hoped that Keela had a nice place in mind.
He wanted their outing to be nice, but nothing that would cause headaches and pressure. A day out to enjoy themselves was good. Then an idea came to Aeron, "Do you let Julia eat ice-cream? Maybe we could go to a place that serves that." Ice-cream might not be healthy, but kids went nuts over sweet foods like ice-cream and cookies. Aeron was trying. Oh how he was trying.

Keela looked over at the playground, watching as Julia and the girl went over to the slide again. Keela smiled. It seemed Julia had made a friend, even if it was only going to last while both girls were at the park. She looked back at Aeron. "Yeah, McDonald's probably isn't the best place. But I can't really think of a place." Truth was, Keela didn't eat out much, or at all. It cost money to eat out, money Keela didn't really have. So she couldn't think of a child-friendly place. She was about to suggest looking around when Aeron asked if Julia was allow to eat ice cream.
Keela shrugged. "Once in while, and only a little bit." Keela only brought ice cream when she had extra money, which wasn't a lot of the time, once every few months at the most. "But going out for ice cream sounds good." Keela frowned, wondering what place sold ice cream. It took her a minute to remember about Haagen-dazs. "We can maybe go to Haagen-dazs. They sell ice cream." Keela suggested.

Aeron nodded. "Ice-cream it is then. Should I pick you two up or just meet you at Haagen-dazs?" Aeron, being the gentleman that he was, was giving a choice, something that he was sure Keela would be comfortable with. She looked around his age and Aeron was getting ready to walk away with a date for Valentine's Day... TWO dates actually. Aeron didn't mind if someone already had a kid. He loved them. He might not be ready to actually being a father, but he wasn't going to turn someone away if they were a single parent. To Aeron that actually meant that they were strong. Keela was a strong woman if she was caring for a child on her own.
He waited patiently for the woman to respond. After this he would walk away knowing how they would meet up. He was excited. Already he had a few roles he was doing and not long after had caught the eye of a very pretty woman. Aeron just hoped he wasn't pushing it by asking her out for ice-cream. And saying he'd treat her daughter too seemed like a good idea. The young man gave a small smile to Keela, hoping it would break the ice between them.

Keela didn't have to think even for a second about her answer, she already knew. "We'll meet you there." Aeron seemed like a great guy, but Keela had learned early in her life that she couldn't always trust someone. It was kinda sad that she was only twenty, yet didn't have that much of a positive view on the world. She knew there were nice people out there, she just didn't think she would meet any of them.
Keela looked over at the playground. Julia was once again climbing the stairs with the ten year old girl. Keela watched them for a few more seconds before turning back to Aeron. "Do you have a time in mind?" She was sure she could get the day off from work if she asked, and if she had to work, she would ask for the evening shift, spending the morning/early afternoon with Julia and Aeron.
