Have you ever wondered about what it would be like to just lose everything? Not just your home, friends, family but even losing yourself along the way, it was hard and desperate time when you lose yourself, when you just don’t believe in anything anymore and no matter what people try and do, they just cannot get through that unbeatable barrier that you have, yourself put up against people, against help. Once upon a time, some time ago, Harmony Whitfield went through that feeling, at the age of eleven he lost both of her parents in a car crash, she was not in the vehicle, the youngster was actually at her cousin’s for the day while her parents went out to buy her birthday presents. Obviously, when her parents hadn’t cone to get her when they said they would have, confused her, but then again, the young lady was smart, she just thought they were taking their time trying to ensure that they got her the best present possible. It took her a couple of minutes to allow the news to settle when her aunty pulled her to the side and told her, then she realised that her whole world had just crashed down around her, she didn’t feel complete anymore, and she wasn’t going to feel that way for a long time.
The worst part was when she needed the rest of her family the most, they just abandoned her, she was taken into foster care and luckily for her, she was fostered within a couple of weeks, but it meant that she had to move home, from her lovely state Chicago, to Virginia, something the young female did not agree with. The up and coming dancer found herself on a horse farm, her foster mother was a trainer and her foster father was a farmer, so she had to adjust to the life of animals very quickly, considering before then she had only ever had a hamster and that didn’t last long. The horses helped though, such large and elegant creatures that made her feel safe, they didn’t have to talk to be there for her, they just were and they were always happy to see her in the morning when she went out to feed them. She actually loved her new family, they cared for her, but the scars of what had happened to her, and not dealing with it, made her a little hard to handle when she turned into a teenager, she got into trouble, and basically made life difficult for anyone that was associated with her. But her foster mother was there for her through it all and tried to keep her focused on her dreams, like dancing.
The female was pretty glad though when she was able to leave, she got a good contract with a dance company at eighteen and travelled a lot, dancing for a variety of different people, and getting her name out there, she has been doing that ever since, just making a name for herself. Today she was out at the local park, she had worked for a couple hours in the morning at Julliard and now had the rest of the day to herself, so considering she had gotten a lift with a friend into work, she decided she was going to take her time and walk home. She smiled as she saw a variety of different people out, she was very much a visualise kind of person; she loved to see things, like the beauty hidden within simply moves of a dance. She stood for a moment, on the pathway and just watched the scenes in front of her, until someone took her attention away.
