on this site, we have a particularly ranking system that feeds right into the activity level of each member. we are a no word count site, and we do not want members to feel pressured into writing long posts, especially if it's not necessary.
obviously the stardom of a character has to do with what position they are in the hierarchy. a celebrity will be eligible for far more awards than an unknown. however, each tier has a different ranking system as well.
STANDARD AWARDS
the characters with the most posts will be able to win awards such as people's choice, teen choice, and other awards that are judged based on the popularity of the star. if an unknown has a higher average post per day than a celebrity, they will get the award. SPECIAL AWARDS
these awards consist of the screen actors guild, academy awards, emmy awards, grammy awards, and other large awards that serve characters. awards like "best picture" will be described later. awards like "best actor/actress" is judged based on the total average post count of the character and the number of posts that were spent interacting with various people involved in the movies they were in. if an actor has an average post count of 2 and 50% of those posts had something to do with interacting with people on set or people involved in the process of making the movie, they will still not have a better chance at winning as opposed to someone who had an average post count of 1 and 75% of those posts had something to do with interaction. posting about your movie is the main thing when winning "best actor" and "best actress." MOVIE AWARDS
awards based on the presentation of a movie like "best picture", the sundance awards, cannes film festival, and other such events will be judged according to a total average post count of all the cast members who wrote posts involving interaction with the movie/cast/director/etc. every year, the staff will total up the amount of posts a movie accumulated, and a month before the winners are announced will release them to the public. members have a month to up their average post counts in order to win the award.
a breakdown of how we judge which movies will win what is as follows:
ACADEMY AWARDS- best picture: movie with the largest post average.
- actor in a leading role: male character who has a leading role in a movie with the highest percentage of posts involving their movie.
- actress in a leading role: female character who has a leading role in a movie with the highest percentage of posts involving their movie.
- actor in a supporting role: male character who has a supporting role in a movie with the highest percentage of posts involving their movie.
- actress in a supporting role: female character who has a leading role in a movie with the highest percentage of posts involving their movie.
- directing: director who has the highest percentage of their post average directing/communicating with their movie/cast members.
- makeup and hairstyling: character who has the highest percentage of their post average styling/communicating with their movie/cast members.
- production design: producer who has the highest percentage of their post average producting/communicating with their movie/cast members.
- screenplay: screenwriter who has the highest percentage of their post average wriiting/communicating with their movie/cast members.
what counts as interacting with cast members and the like?- threads with other cast members/those involved in the movie
- posts involving other cast members in their context
- posts involving the movie in their context
- posts on the set
so then, how does one know if a movie is doing well after it has been released? if cast members have posted in the set board, posted about the movie, and have threads with other cast members, the movie will be a success. if a movie has very few posts, no threads with cast members, and is generally ignored, it will fail, and the reputation of the stars will go down in character because of this. however, even if your movie fails, it will not hinder the ability to move up the hierarchy.
★: less than 15% of posts about the movie, less than 25% of cast is filled ★★: 30% of the available cast has posted involving the movie, 50% of the cast is filled ★★★: 60% of the cast has posted involving the movie, 60% of the cast is filled. ★★★★: 90% of the cast has posted involving the movie, 75% of the cast is filled up.
